As I was watching the opening ceremony for the Olympics 2008 held in Beijing, I was really amazed by the show that was put on and especially in awe of the cute 9 year old girl, who sang “Ode to the Motherland.” Turns out that this cute 9 year old girl, Lin Miaoke, was lip-syncing to a recording of Yang Peiyi, a supposedly less cuter girl of 7 years old. What. a. heart. break. Not cool China, not cool. I actually think that Yang Peiyi is cuter, because she’s younger and able to sing well.
